Hi there!

         I'm Siddarth Reddy Karuka, a Data Scientist by profession but a physicist and statistician by education. I graduated from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities with a doctorate degree in Physics. My doctoral research focused on using Physics principles to understand human biology at the cellular level. I developed new experimental and analysis techniques to study protein localization and interactions in human cells, thus making advancements in our understanding of human diseases. For my doctoral thesis, I developed a technique to identify proteins at the nanometer level in a living cell using a two photon microscope. That's like using an inch ruler to measure the thickness of a strand of human hair, but thanks to some domain knowledge and mathematical techniques, I was able to make this possible.

         I love to keep learning new things and explore new possibilities, which is also how I got into Data Science and Machine Learning. My interest for data science has evolved as I started to develop new analysis techniques and perform data analysis for my PhD research. With Machine Learning and Recommender Systems becoming prevalent everywhere, I couldn't stop myself from learning more about this field. I finished MicroMasters in Data Science from University of California, San Diego and have been certified as an Advanced Data Science Specialist by IBM and a certified TensorFlow developer by Google. I created this website initially to publish myself with better than a two-page resume but as time progressed I started utilizing this as a platform to write about some of the stuff that I have worked on or currently working on. It not only helps me remember and revisit the work that I have done over the years but could also provide just a tad more of learning for others.
